Client organization lifecycle

See how a client's organization is looked after as the client settles into Watson.

This guide describes existing client companies that use the legacy company-membership and stewardship model. These company-wide rules do not define the Member access grants your agency configures for an individual client relationship.

A legacy client company groups its people across agency Portals. Your agency keeps its own contact details and work private from every other agency.

Stage Who manages the company What your agency may do
Your agency creates it Creating agency holds a stewardship grant Invite people and view settings. The first acceptance makes that person Owner, whatever their domain.
First Owner joins Owner governs; grant continues Invite or remove non-Owner Members, switch company on/off, view settings. Never touch an Owner, ownership, billing, review decisions, or client-owned switches.
Owner ends grant or second agency connects Client Owner Manage your own Portal and ContactOrganization only; no company changes or membership removal.

An Engagement alone never gives company authority or ends the grant. Archiving your own client relationship affects only your agency, not the company’s switch. Only the Owner changes Join by company email, which defaults on.

If the client is an agency or freelancer workspace, its existing Owners govern it. Your invitation recognises its existing Members; it cannot add people to their workspace.
