Clients & portal

Remove a client user from Portal

Stop one person from seeing your agency's work in Portal.

Remove an eligible Member’s access to stop them from seeing your agency’s work in this client relationship. Their Profile, saved permissions, Project selection and work remain stored. These controls do not remove a relationship Owner.

Steps

  1. Open Clients, select the client, then go to Settings → People.
  2. Find the person and select Remove access.
  3. Confirm. Their status changes to Removed.

To restore a previously accepted Member, select Restore access beside their name. This restores the same relationship grant with its saved permissions and Project selection. Company Membership is not required. Separate client Workspace ownership remains unchanged.

An admitted Admin or Owner can also restore an eligible accepted Member under Removed Member access on Portal People, if the Member’s full saved Project scope fits their current access. Previously accessible conversation history returns only within current access and existing audiences. Restoration does not add participants or expose another person’s private Request.

An invitation cancelled before acceptance cannot be restored or renewed through these controls. Contact Watson support for recovery.

Legacy company-membership access

For older company-membership access, the same Studio removal steps stop a non-Owner from seeing the work your agency shares. Their account and company Membership remain in Watson. These legacy controls cannot remove, block, or change the Portal role of a client Owner. Restoring legacy access still requires client company Membership.

Removing Portal access never removes company Membership. Only the client Owner, or your agency while it holds the live stewardship grant, may remove a non-Owner Member from the company. Once the grant ends, company removal is refused. See Client organization lifecycle.
